What an amazing life you've led. Your life experience is different enough from the average that I think it has given you the ability to look at the so-called "ordinary" from the outside looking in, and thus see it with a fresh pair of eyes. What has seemed like a curse may well be a blessing to you as a writer.

I think there is hope for Anna; twenty is not so very old. She may get out from under your parents thumbs a little late. Keep encouraging her.
